Grünerløkka is bubbling over with young creative souls, intellectuals and artists in addition to everyday people. There are many cozy restaurants and trendy bars in “Løkka”. The Delicatessen, the French restaurant Le Benjamin bar & bistro, Bass Oslo and the wine bar Territoriet are all worth a visit. Markens Mat & Vinhus and Dr. Kneipp’s wine bar are historical establishments with a standing reputation. The Vintage Kitchen restaurant and wine bar is located alongside the Akerselva river. The food market Vulkan, Nedre Foss Gård restaurant and the bars Ingensteds and Blå are attractions in themselves.
You will find walking paths and green parks nearby along Akerselva river. There are also pleasant bike paths tracing the river. The nearby Ringen Kino movie theatre, well known for its’ comfortable atmosphere and large movie selection has a café and bar area. Just north of “Løkka” is Torshov with the famous Soria Moria and Trikkestallen cultural centre. They offer great entertainment with both theatre and concert events. There are also many large parks and charming cafes throughout Torshov. You can ride a bicycle to downtown Oslo in about 10-15 minutes, while walking distance is about 30. Alternatively you can use public transportation.
